Team Nutrition, provided by the USDA Food and Nutrition Service offers resources on healthy eating and lifestyles for schools, educators and parents.

About Food & Nutrition Services

The Food & Nutrition Services (FNS) Department is committed to providing every student daily access to fresh, nutritious meals that meet or exceed federal, state, and AUSD guidelines. We provide about 2000 lunches to elementary school students and 1300 lunches to middle and high school students daily. We also serve breakfast at most of our sites.

FNS staff follow nutritional guidelines published by the United States Department of Agriculture. In addition, we offer salad bars and whole grain breads, pastas, pizza, and cereals at every school site. And we avoid the use of trans-fats, antibiotics, growth hormones, and high fructose corn syrup. Much of our food is made from scratch in our central kitchen, and over the last several years, we have begun incorporating more and more locally produced produce in our meals.

Healthy Food Resources in Alameda County

The Alameda County Community Food Bank has produced this Guide to Healthy Resources in Alameda County, which includes information on emergency food resources, the CalFresh program, the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program, Head Start, Free and Reduced School Meals, and Meals on Wheels.

Online School Lunch Debt Donation Link

Over the last year, a number of community members have asked how they can contribute money to help pay off the lunch debts of students whose families cannot afford to do so. We are very grateful for your generosity and community spirit! To make such donations easier, we have partnered with "RevTrak" to create a simple link that community members can use. It takes just minutes to set up an account and then just seconds to make a donation. Please click here to learn more!
